Put simply, I suspect Google Calendar is going to bring some inertia to the whole groupware/calendaring thing. Not because it's bad-ass, but because it's insanely visible. And it got search right (this is Google, after all).
For no reason in particular, I decided to get a wireless access point for my flat. Take2 was having a special on Linksys equipment, so I settled for a WRT54G. Before I continue, Take2 have been totally brilliant. Linksys, on the other hand...
I just got reminded by Brad's pointing out of the new Impi logo - Impi has a new look. I love the logo, and the web site is rather decent. Not sheer cool madness, but someone's put a lot of effort into it. Even if a bit of content is missing and the orange header background is rather garish (I get more than enough garish orange at Jam).

In expectation of my copy of Oblivion arriving, I bought myself a games machine (Jeremy took over my old one after I switched to my laptop). Since it came pre-installed with the entire hard drive dedicated to it, I decided not to set up a multi-boot environment for this PC. So, for the past week or so and for the first time in ages, I've been using Windows for more than just a boot loader for games.
Working straight out for a number of weeks takes its toll, but the little things help relieve some of the stress. Like finding out that one in every five posts on the KnowledgeTree forums are by me. And like having two days allocated to fixing bugs and adding improvements to KT.
The Ubuntu Certified Professional certification has been announced. I hadn't mentioned it before, but I spent a day at one of the early meetings on the subject and took part in the Cape Town portion of the item-writing workshops (along with Jonathan and Russell. The first exams will be held at LinuxWorld in Johannesburg in a month and a half - so chances are the first couple certified Ubuntu professionals will be South Africans. (I can't write, of course.)
