Andre Oppermann stepped up to the plate to overhaul and clean up the TCP/IP stack in FreeBSD, and I was one of his funders. Well, I was part of a funding contribution by a group of South African FreeBSD users and friends that raised R3.5k (440 euro). It gives me an evil plan, except I need R20k. More on that later, perhaps.
My former colleague, Lisa Retief, has won an award for her work with her company Sadalbari. Not only be of interest to our former colleagues as I think it's also a sign of the acceptance of her open source oriented company, and a good platform from which many more people will learn about it. And it also makes me want to get off my butt and be entrepreneurial.

Wow, what a weird article. Initially, I was thinking it was some sort of parody of the socially backwards male perspective. But then it heads off into kookville, talking about how equal rights are creating more power for women than men. Or I think it does. Could it be parody at a level I can't appreciate?
